While cooking a Turkey , do you set the oven to 325 F or 160 F ?

It says on the recipe to preheat the oven to 325 F but later adds : A whole turkey (and turkey parts) is safe when cooked to a minimum internal temperature of 165 °F as measured with a food thermometer. So is it 325 F or 165 ?

  1. Pre-heat to 350F,after it’s hot ,put bird in raise to 400f for the 1rst 1/2 hour then take it back down to 350(The high heat helps seal the skin and hold moisture). If you have a meat thermometer, stick it in the fattest part of the breast where you can see it ,and don’t pull it out or you’ll lose juices, when it reads 165 it’s done.Take turkey out ,don’t cut it for at least 15 minutes, the juices will spread out thru the turkey. Then cut and enjoy!!!!Save some for me!
