The meat still is a little pinkish. I cooked it for the recommended time (2.25 hrs for slightly more than 4 lbs) and to an internal temperature of 155. I seem to recall that this happened last time, too. Maybe my meat thermometer is off?

I remember seeing a method that used a meat thermometer and a oven proof measuring cup w/ 1 cup of water in it. I cannot remeber the particulars of how to do it. (what temp to set the oven at and how much temp change in the water in how much time)

My meatloaf is 1 lb ground beef, 1 lb ground pork, with breadcrumbs, tomato paste, onion, garlic and an egg. How long should I cook it for, and at what temp? I don’t have a meat thermometer, and my oven is pretty accurate.

I don’t have a meat thermometer (they recommend inner temp at 150 degrees). How long should I let it cook for at 325 degrees to bring it to about that temperature (I want it tender and don’t want to overcook it!)?

So basically could I use a meat thermometer for making candies or measuring the temperature of water for yeast? I really don’t want to buy a candy thermometer if I can’t stick it in a piece of meat.

cold and windy outside and can only keep a 300 degree temp. I know it’s 3.5 minutes per pound at 350, so what give it an extra 10 -15 minutes cooking time! Then check inside temp with meat thermometer! Thanks for your help!

I bought a store bought porketta, how do I cook it? I don’t have a meat thermometer, and I don’t have a shallow roast pan, though I do have a dutch oven and a big enough frying, in which the porketta stops about 2 inches above the rim (that can go in stove) PLEASE HELP???

my mom’s cooking a christmas turkey, the meat thermometer broke and she wants to make sure the liquid that came out is not going to poison us, it’s apparently not mercury like normal thermometers
