We are doing a lab in chemistry tomorrow. We are given a coffee pot full of water at a temperature between 40 C and 99 C. We get to use a thermometer that reads only to 40 C and and other equipment besides a higher reading thermometer. Any ideas as to how to figure out [...]

Or can I just season it well, put in the meat thermometer and roast it in the oven? Is it better to brown it on all sides in a pan first?

I'm cooking it on the stove top and I don't have a pan that I can transfer to the oven so I'd like to cook it completely on the stove. I usually BBQ them, but it's too cold out for that and I'm not sure how long to cook it on the stove top or [...]
